1. Getting together so we can love God together i.e. ;Communal Worship

Col 3:16 (ESV)

16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.

Life can be lonely. The wonder of a shared experience can be a great fix for that! We do it at concerts, movies, and disneyland. The feeling of excitement and fun that’s all the more amplified by seeing that you’re not alone. Sometimes you just need to be in a crowd of people who love what you love and love you.

2. You don’t have to go through “it” alone i.e.;  Support

1 Thess 5:11 (ESV)

11 Therefore encourage one another and build one another up.

Life can be scary. All the fears and worries it brings can make us feel small and isolated. The good news is, you’re a part of a family that can be busy loving you while you’re busy navigating. In church, you’re surrounded by the successful, the failures, the satisfied, and the hungry all united in a hope of something greater than themselves.

Let’s face it, sometimes life can stink and you need to be around people who not only agree with that sentiment, but can encourage you in prayer and love. You’ll find lots of those kinds of people in church. It’s the comfort and reassurance that there are others who feel just like you.

3. You can ask for directions i.e; Receiving the Word

Galatians 6:6 (ESV)

Let the one who is taught the word share all good things with the one who teaches.

WhichRoute

Life can be complicated. Perhaps you’re not sure where you should be going in the first place. Perhaps you’re…oh no…the “L” word, LOST! Well you’re not alone in that either. Church can also be the pit stop of life’s journey. Need to fill up, need something to drink or eat, should’ve taken a left at Albuquerque (feel free to name that reference in the comment section)? Then stop on by your local church for a spiritual refill/rerouting.

Having a hard time understanding that huge book called the bible? Well there are these people at church who’ve dedicated their lives to understand it and in helping others to as well. Whatever your (spiritual) travel needs may be, church is like the food mart just off the long road.

God is incredibly concerned in his relationship with you, that’s why He sent Jesus. He’s also equally concerned about your relationship with others, which is also why He sent Jesus. Don’t neglect it, you’ll be holding yourself back from enormous spiritual growth. The Church is Jesus’ current physical flesh and blood manifestation in the 21st century and we’re all called to be an atom in it. It’s so unusually wonderful!  If you’re not a part of it, join in and see what the big fuss is about.

Hebrews 10:25 (ESV)

not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.
