Hello Friends & Happy Spring!

For some of you, spring means nothing, it is still cold. For others, it means more showers, since it brings May flowers. And yet some, have been feelin’ the sun throughout the winter season. Regardless, we welcome this spring season and encourage you to notice the flowers and plants around you in their blooming soon. In the same way, may your spiritual life, as well as your youth’s, be blooming and growing in Christ.

Each April since 1987, the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence, Inc. (NCADD) has sponsored Alcohol Awareness Month to increase public awareness and understanding, reduce stigma and encourage local communities to focus on alcoholism and alcohol-related issues. Research has shown that kids who have conversations with their parents or teachers and learn a lot about the dangers of alcohol and drug use are 50% less likely to use these substances than those who don’t have such conversations. This month, let us focus on the substance abuse emblems and teach our children about the consequences and risks of drugs and alcohol.

Do Your Own Emblem

Since each troop can earn two emblems a month, all troops can focus on an aspect of what this Earth is made of or what it produces. As we observe Earth day, let’s focus on what Earth has to offer as well as thinking of ways to protect and respect it.
