…And just like that…it’s gonna be May!
For all those late 80s-90s kids, you know what I’m talking about. If you don’t, take a second to listen to a bit of *Nsync. Good stuff!
This May, we are looking at some interesting National days! Feel free to use any listed days to change up emblems that you might prefer to work on.

Here are a few you might’ve not known of:

  • Bird Day- 4th
  • Day of Prayer- 5th
  • NASCAR Day- 20th
  • Emergency Medical Services for children- 25th

On a broader scope of May:

May is National Bike Month, sponsored by the League of American Bicyclists and celebrated in communities from coast to coast. Established in 1956, National Bike Month is a chance to showcase the many benefits of bicycling — and encourage more folks to giving biking a try. Whether you bike to work or school; ride to save money or time; pump those pedals to preserve your health or the environment; or simply to explore your community, National Bike Month is an opportunity to celebrate the unique power of the bicycle and the many reasons we ride. (http://bikeleague.org/bikemonth)

Since each troop can earn two emblems a month, let’s push past spring and dive right into summer by working on swimming badges! On May 21st, it is National Learn to Swim Day—meaning the second half (and probably the warmest- for most) of the month would be a perfect time to transition your youth to summer both mentally and physically!
