Our Territorial Overseas Child Sponsorship Coordinator, Rachel Thieme, recently visited The Salvation Army’s Children’s Home in Mazatlán, México. While at the Children’s Home, Rachel had the opportunity to visit with many of the youth and faculty of the school as well as make home visitations with youth she met at the home when she served there as a missionary several years ago. Check out what Rachel has to say about how we can help change lives of the youth in Mazatlán, México:IMG_3461 (2)

You can be a part of investing in the lives of the children at The Salvation Army Children’s Home in Mazatlán, México by giving today. The children who reside at the Children’s Home in Mazatlán come to the home from dark and difficult circumstances including abuse, neglect, or having been orphaned. The communities they come from are entrenched in poverty where access to food, education, and safe shelter is limited.

The Salvation Army Children’s Home is a haven of hope for these children, providing them with the foundation for an empowered future by affording access to nutritious food, clothing, medical and dental support, a safe environment, the resources to receive an education, and the opportunity to learn about God’s great love. While many from their communities have little option other than to grow up too fast, at the Children’s Home in Mazatlán, these children are given the opportunity to be kids and to be loved and cared for the way God intended.
