LEARNING TO LOVE
“If one part (of the body) hurts, every other part is involved in the hurt…If one part flourishes, every other part enters into the exuberance.” – 1 Cor 12:26
Territorial Director of Special Needs
Christina Arnold (Captain)
A wife, mother of 2, one of which has special needs and a Salvation Army Officer.
Motivated by a mother’s desire to introduce her son to the love of Christ and connect him to a Christian community, Captain Arnold took what she learned about her son’s condition and applied it to her personal ministry and the ministry at a corps. Her son, as well as other children who had special needs, were able to participate in programs, learn about their Savior and build positive relationship with other Christians.
In her current appointment as Director of Special Needs Ministry at The Salvation Army Western Territorial Headquarters, Captain Arnold is using her experience to help corps and programs around the Western Territory to better their impact in reaching out to those affect by disabilities with the love and hope that comes from God.
Captain Arnold is available for consultations. If you have any questions or need assistance in how to better include an individual or family affected by disabilities, please email SpecialNeedsMinistry@usw.salvationarmy.org.
